Estimate the potential revenue attached to unanswered calls with your own call records, booking rate, and average job value.
Start with your own call records
Count unanswered calls over a representative month. Separate new-work inquiries from existing customers, vendors, duplicate calls, and spam. A missed call is a possible opportunity, not automatically a lost job: some people call again, leave a useful message, or were never a suitable customer.
Estimate opportunities, not guaranteed losses
Multiply unanswered calls by the share that concerns new work, your expected booking rate, and average completed-job revenue. For example, 20 unanswered calls × 50% new-work share × 30% booking rate × $375 per job equals $1,125 in potential monthly gross revenue. These are illustrative assumptions, not industry averages or promised results.
Compare value using your margins
Gross revenue is not profit. Account for labor, materials, travel, cancellations, the service fee, and any extra-minute charges. Then test whether better intake actually produces qualified inquiries and completed work. Review call outcomes regularly instead of treating the initial estimate as a forecast.
